Magdalena Fava


This fava bean was collected by NS/S in Aravaipa Canyon where it was being grown by a local farmer in the mid 1990's.  The seed for the variety came from Magdalena, Sonora.  A drought and heat tolerant variety.  Pick beans when young for fresh shelling, or use as dry bean when seed is allowed to fully mature. Excellent for soups or hummus. Can tolerate down to 20° F.  Approx. 13.5g/15 seeds per packet.
