Hopi Greasy Head
"Wiekte". Often planted early by Hopi farmers so the harvest can be used for the Home Dance ceremony in July. Plum-colored kernels on 10-12" ears. Plants are short (3'). 56 days to pollination, 103 days to dried ears from planting in Patagonia, Arizona (4,000'). Kernels have an oily, or greasy, appearance. Approx. 14g/50 seeds per packet.
